Artist Bio
Gideon Hermann is a Milwaukee based artist. They received their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in Jewelry and Metalsmithing and a Digital Fabrication and Design Certificate at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in May 2021. They served as an officer for Object, a metals student organization, both in the secretary and vice president positions. In 2021, Gideon won second place in Makers!21, an exhibition juried by Anna Walker. They were also awarded the 2020 Lose Beads Society of Greater Milwaukee Scholarship and gave an artist talk to their members in January 2021. Gideon was nominated for the 2021 Windgate-Lamar Fellowship and has worked as an undergraduate research assistant for Professor Yevgeniya Kaganovich. They have also served as a classroom assistant for Erica Meier in “The Multiple in Jewelry and Metalsmithing” and “Industrial Processes” classes.
